What is the NAL?

The National Academic League® was founded in 1992 by Drs. Terrel H. Bell and Donna L. Elmquist. Dr. Elmquist, President of Terrel Bell and Associates. a network of academically competitive leagues to rival interscholastic athletic competitions.

Goals of the Baltimore City NAL

The goals of The National Academic League® program in Baltimore City

  • Honor academic accomplishments;
  • Increase public awareness of student academic achievements;
  • Promote learning for all students and their parents;
  • Increase real-world use of the Internet and distance learning;
  • Provide academic athletes the focus of other athletes;
